Microsoft® announced a new program on November 9th that would allow computer refurbisher companies to get completely new copies of Microsoft Windows® to install on their computers, provided they pay for Microsoft for the privilege.

Before this program computer refurbisher companies would need to to have use the restore CD provided by the computer manufacturer to restore the PC to the original state, if they did not have it they need to get it from the computer manufacturer, a time consuming process that is virtually impossible for the Computer Refurbisher companies that buy and sell thousands of computers a month. With Microsoft's new program, all you need is a Certificate of Authenticity (COA).

No word yet on how much the special versions of Windows XP® will cost, but Microsoft did say it would be less then what computer manufacturers would pay for Windows XP on a new computer.
